Vision
In order to be a thriving ministry in the
community, St. Luke will be a Worship, Music and Life Center – Praise the
Lord!
Worship
Long Term 2015
- St. Luke will provide multiple worship services
with various times and styles.
ü St. Luke
will have one service utilizing multi-media technology.
ü St. Luke
will offer communion weekly at one or more services.
- St. Luke will explore various worship
styles.
- St. Luke will investigate different worship
styles.
- St. Luke will utilize funds from an approved
multi-cultural grant.
- St. Luke will explore offering communion weekly
on Sundays.
- St. Luke will be an active partner with the
North Harford Road Community Association (NHRCA), local schools, churches and
elected leaders.

will provide a viable health ministry.

will have an established Health Ministry Committee that seeks grants and sets
policy for
program initiatives.
- St. Luke will have established an active
dialogue with community groups and will have determined our common goals.

Community Ministry Short Term
2008
- St. Luke will continue to establish dialogue
with other community groups such as YANA, Marriage Works, and local elected
leaders.
- St Luke will facilitate multiple small group
ministries grounded in prayer.
- St. Luke will have five small group ministries
grounded in prayer.
- St Luke will begin to identify and develop
small group ministries grounded in prayer.
- St. Luke will provide multiple Bible
studies/ministries with various times and styles.
- St. Luke will run a thriving children’s
ministry.
- St. Luke will run a thriving youth
ministry.
- St. Luke will provide valuable adult
programming.
- St. Luke will run a thriving and enriching
music program.
- St. Luke will have a men’s Bible study meeting
monthly.
- St. Luke will have started a concentrated Bible
study open to everyone.
- St. Luke will have established youth
involvement in all aspects of the church, including gatherings, Council,
choir, worship, and Bible study.
- St. Luke will have established a Current Events
Sub-committee that organizes the study and debate of the issues of the day.
- St. Luke will have growing music camp and VBS
day camp programs.
- St. Luke will host at least two musical
concerts a year.
- St. Luke will have a men’s Bible study meeting
monthly.
- St. Luke will have started a concentrated Bible
study open to everyone.
- St. Luke will foster the growth of Kids of the
Kingdom with new ideas including a music program, monthly themes and
mini-seminars.
- St. Luke will begin Godspell II as an
initiative for youth, catechism, service and fellowship.
- St. Luke will develop a summer internship for
youth learning about ministry.
- St. Luke will encourage support regarding
seminary education for members.
Stewardship Long Term
2015
- St. Luke will be a tithing congregation.
- St. Luke will actively care for God’s resources
and people.
- St. Luke will utilize the gifts of all people.
- St. Luke will embrace tithing by having 50% of
the congregation tithing or actively working toward tithing.
- St. Luke will have explored ways to incorporate
“green,” environmentally friendly initiatives into future infrastructure
renovations.
- St. Luke will continue tithing education in
order to expand upon the congregation’s understanding and comfort with
tithing.
- St. Luke will continue to see an increase in
financial giving.
- St. Luke will continue with quarterly
stewardship weekends/themes.
- St. Luke will continue to organize a focused
year round effort to provide food for the hungry, both locally and
globally.
- St. Luke will work toward becoming a
“greener,” more environmentally friendly congregation.
- St. Luke will continue to organize efforts to
care for all of God’s creatures through a yearly Blessing of the Pets
and Pet Food Drive.
Infrastructure Long Term
2015
- St. Luke will be inviting and accessible to all
people.
- St. Luke will be a “Worship, Music and Life
Center” utilizing practical technologies.
- St. Luke will have clear and up-to-date
signage.
- St. Luke will have re-landscaped the front of
the church.

Luke will have determined where the church sanctuary and the Worship, Music
and Life Center are located. (Nov. 2006 – Congregation affirmed its desire
to maintain current locations for sanctuary and fellowship hall.)
- St. Luke will continue to replace the exterior
doors.
- St. Luke will develop and implement a plan to
renovate the fellowship hall.
- St. Luke will research various safety
requirements for churches.
- St. Luke will research transportation
needs.
- St. Luke will make the courtyard accessible,
clean and thriving for community and outdoor worship.
- St. Luke will make the kitchen accessible,
clean and up to code with the Baltimore City Health Department.
Fellowship Long Term
2015
- St. Luke will celebrate in large
gatherings.
- St. Luke will have childcare at all
events.
- St. Luke will meet in small groups.
- St. Luke will continue the Kaffee
Klatch.
- St. Luke will target at least one Fellowship
gathering per month, including Fellowship support for Fun-Raising and other
committee events.
Evangelism Long Term
2015
- St. Luke will have an active evangelism
ministry.
- St. Luke will have an active follow-up program
for evangelism and invitation.
- St. Luke will successfully transition visitors
into participants, and participants into faith leaders.
- St. Luke will have actively informed and
involved members in evangelism throughout the whole body of St. Luke, with
ongoing invitation activities.
- St. Luke will consider revival ministries for
our congregation, our leaders and our community.
- St. Luke will have expanded its follow-up
program.
